Product Costing Expert

Goal / purpose of the job:

To manage the product costing activities within the Captive CoE. This role involves developing accurate cost models, analyzing cost data and providing strategic insights to support business decisions.

ARLANXEO's Product Costing team is integral to their operations, focusing on collaborating closely with various departments to ensure accurate costing, which supports decision-making and financial planning. They play a critical role in the accounting and financial reporting processes. The department's expertise is crucial in maintaining ARLANXEO's competitive edge in the synthetic rubber market, serving industries such as automotive, construction, and oil and gas.

This role is based in our office in Powai, Mumbai with flexible working hours.

YOUR KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Closing Activities:

• Review output of process order closing activities from Outsourcing Partner
• Review output of plant maintenance order closing activities from Outsourcing Partner
• Perform quantity and variable cost reasonableness checks for Powerhouse entities
• Review output of production cost center closing activities from Outsourcing Partner
• Review output of inventory valuation output from Outsourcing Partner
• Complete reporting activities quarterly for specific entities

Budgeting Activities:

• Reconcile recipe factor from plan order qty & consumption qty to identify discrepancy
• Simulate consumption qty to cross check KSPP results & period adjustment requested by Site controller
• Simulate negative volume variance for recipe factor or production volume correction
• Review output of powerhouse, non-powerhouse, and activity rates activity from outsourcing partner
• Review output of Material Price Planning activities from outsourcing providers and perform reasonableness check
• Review annual manual calculation for Fixed production cost centers and work with site controllers to propose ways to eliminate manual postings

Additional Activities:

• Complete purchase price difference monitoring (monthly) & liaise with site controller on anomalies found
• Complete Federal statistical office reports
• Update Butadiene Swap Prices

WHO YOU ARE:

• Costing & Accounting Expert: You have a strong understanding of accounting policies, product costing, statutory norms and compliance measures.
• Experienced System User: You have experience are competent in using ERP (SAP - S4 Hana; SE (desired), financial tools, MS Excel, Power Apps (desired), MS Suites etc.
• Organized: You ensure efficiency to value inventory during month-end close and assist in developing and maintaining budget.
• Problem Solver: You assist internal and external stakeholders by answering queries and analysis of financial data.
• Analytical: You create insightful and actionable dashboards using data analysis for informed decision-making within the organization.
• Task-oriented: You optimize tasks assigned and enhancing operational efficiency through continuous improvements.
