Job description:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage project procurement, capex items from India and international market.
- Buyer of raw material & packaging items procurement.
- Handle technical buying.
- Focus on cost-effective sourcing, Imports.
- Vendor development and management process.
- Sound knowledge of business processes and projects related to purchase of chemicals/ engineering items.
Performance Evaluation (KRA/KPIs):
- Price per Kg of raw material.
- Bottom line Improvement Year-on-Year.
Interaction:
- Internal: Procurement (Decision on Pricing, Purchase Decision), Logistics, Stores (Inventory control, Dispatches, billing management).
- External: Vendors, Transporters.
Experience: 15 -20 years with Polymer Compounding or Plastic Engineering Polymer Division
Qualification: BE in any stream, or graduate with MBA - Material Management, NITIE, supply chain management.
Required Exposure: Warehouse, Vendor Management, Vendor assessments.
Desired Exposure: Procurement, Logistics, Inventory, commercials, IATF, Audits of ISO.
Skills & Competencies:
- Analytical approach, and excellent planning skills.
- Procurement lead time, Total transport cost as % of delivered sales.
- Import data analysis, Procurement & pricing index strategy.
- Contract procurement, contracts for inbound Logistics.
- Cost of Material per Kg, Cost of raw material Year-on-Year as KPI.
- Vendor contracts review and management, Legal & liaison activities as required.
- Cost-saving proposals.
- Communication skills, negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, project management skills, cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
- Should be experienced with ISO, IATF audits and SOPs and other vendor audit processes.
Knowledge:
- Proficient with SAP, Talley, tech savvy, audits, product knowledge (Polymers & additives), MS Office.
