Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan for pulses, spices, and dry fruits, ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality products at competitive prices.
- Conduct market research to identify and source new suppliers from across India, with a focus on origin, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration.
- Oversee the quality control process for all sourced products, ensuring they meet our strict quality standards.
- Analyze market trends, anticipate price fluctuations, and implement strategies to mitigate risks and optimize purchase costs.
- Work closely with inventory management and sales teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Analyze purchase data and generate reports to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize purchasing processes.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices, regulations, and quality standards for grocery products.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the grocery or FMCG industry.
- Proven experience in sourcing pulses, spices, and dry fruits from various regions in India.
- Strong understanding of quality control processes for grocery products.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical mind with a strong ability to analyze data and identify trends.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and purchase management software (a plus).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
