Role Objective

We are seeking a Procurement Manager with a strong engineering background to lead the sourcing and supply chain operations for our UAV manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have expertise in procurement processes and a deep understanding of engineering components and materials used in UAVs, avionics, and electronics manufacturing or similar industries.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement long-term procurement strategies aligned with the company's production goals, focusing on cost optimization, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience.
  • Drive the overall procurement strategy for UAV manufacturing, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and business objectives.
  • Lead strategic supplier partnerships to ensure consistent quality, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to meet technical and performance requirements, as well as their financial stability and reputation.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and transparency with key suppliers, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with R&D, engineering, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of procured materials and components into the UAV manufacturing process.
  • Provide technical insight and strategic input on product design and materials to optimize supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all strategic procurement-related matters, advising senior leadership on key decisions.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline procurement processes, utilizing data analytics and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and manage inventory costs.
  • Implement robust systems for risk management, ensuring continuity of supply and addressing potential disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Oversee procurement budgets, ensuring that all purchasing decisions align with financial goals and organizational priorities.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, localizations, negotiation, and supply chain optimization.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track procurement performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards governing procurement activities.
  • Implement risk management strategies, including identifying and mitigating potential risks related to supply chain, materials, and suppliers.

Educations & Experience

  • Bachelor's in mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, and vendor development
  • Preference for candidates with experience in UAV, avionics, electronics manufacturing industries or similar.
  • Deep understanding of engineering components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Certifications like CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or PMP (Project Management Professional) is a plus
  • Strong negotiation and vendor development and management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement and ERP software systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time position based in Bangalore, India that may require occasional evening or weekend work
  • May require travel to customer sites or other company locations
