- As a Tax Specialist, you'll be responsible for following direct tax activities for India tax jurisdiction and few foreign tax jurisdictions.
What You Will Do in This Role
- Calculation and payment of monthly WHT payments for resident and non-resident deducted and preparing Quarterly TDS returns.
- Calculation of advance tax liability and ensuring electronic payment of advance tax before due dates
- Calculation of Tax deprecation as tax laws
- Preparation of the Form 3CD, Form 3CEB, Form 56 F, Form 29 B etc along necessary schedules and annexures, coordinating with other finance teams
- Liaising with tax auditors to have the relevant direct forms audited and filed electronically after it is reviewe'd and approved internally.
- Prepare necessary schedules and details for tax computation and tax return. Extract the necessary details required for tax return (ITR6 ) and complete the ITR
- Filing of income tax return electronically, after it is reviewe'd and approved internally, before due dates
- Keeping track of notices received, date of hearing of assessments, and updating tax tracker and maintaining of historic data of various tax issues year-wise.
- Tax accounting - Keeping the tax balances as per the accounting standard and passing the accounting entry once order is received from tax department and maintaining prior year chart of tax provision and tax payment made
- Collating of information, analyzing the information before it is presented to tax authorities for various tax audits.
- Preparing submission, schedules and charts required to be submitted to Income tax authorities and appearing before the Income tax authorities, if required, on notices received.
- Coordination and compilation of information to be provided to consultants for transfer pricing assessments o Guidance to AP team on withholding taxes and verification of the monthly TDS liability and uploading payments.
- Correspondence with Income tax authorities for any communication received from CPC and other revenue authorities for WHT taxes etc
- Provide necessary tax details and information required by statutory auditors o Help in preparation of current & deferred tax provision statement and notes to accounts for related party transactions and provision for tax working.
- Help in quarterly US GAAP provisions and related working papers (quarterly tax pack) along with Balance sheet recons.
- Coordinating for information with foreign entity for filing foreign entity tax returns in India before due dates
- Prepare and complete monthly / quarterly balance sheet recons for direct tax accounts.
- Support in tax compliances & tax accounting for various other tax judications in Latin America and Europe
What you'll Need to be Successful in this Role
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-9 years of direct tax experience in industry, preferably a multinational corporation. The job requires good written and oral communication skills and expertise in income tax act and basic knowledge on double taxation avoidance agreements (DTAA)
- Degree in law or accounting - chartered/cost accountant (or equivalent) or graduate degree in taxation preferred.
- Understanding of accounting concepts preferred
- Detail-oriented individual with Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with different functions.
- Able to extract, analyze, and review data and make appropriate recommendations.
