Job Responsibilities
As a Principal Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing & delivering new end-to-end features for our CirclesX Telco operating system, enhancing the existing features as well as scaling those features to cater to millions of customers in multiple markets across the globe.
You will closely work with the Product team & Solution Architecture team to convert new business requirements to tangible deliverables following a Scaled Agile delivery methodology by providing a very hands-on technical leadership to other Staff, SSE, and Junior engineers while contributing to overall engineering maturity of the entire company as well.
You Will Be In Charge Of The Following
- Gaining in-depth domain knowledge about the bounded contexts, customer experience and operator experience in our CirclesX Telco operating system.
- Design and implement solutions, in alignment with platform and DDD principles adopting organization's architectural standards and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering teams working on the services and mentor engineers in adopting and implementing DDD concepts, best practices, and architectural standards.
- Closely work with Product team and Solution Architecture teams to refine business requirements and convert high-level solution designs to low level detailed designs that are well detailed for engineering teams to consume and implement and also backward compatible.
- Bring in best practices and past learning related to performance, reliability, and scalability to the designs and implementations.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure that the designs and implementations are adhered to organizational security policies, industry standards, and any relevant regulations.
- Implement monitoring and observability strategies into the designs, ensuring that the engineering team can effectively identify and address issues in production.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for the applications, including its design, implementation, APIs, and any relevant domain knowledge.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and achievements to relevant stakeholders, such as product managers, domain experts, and other engineering teams.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of the assigned features by closely leading the assigned Staff, SSE, and Junior Engineers of the feature teams within the Program Increment (PI).
- Guide team members, mentor junior engineers, and foster a culture of reliability and performance excellence.
- Provide L4 engineering support to field teams to keep the SLAs intact as and when needed.
- Working in a collaborative, agile environment with multiple cross-functional teams distributed across different geographical locations.
Requirements
- Minimum 14 years industry experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent. MSc in Computer Science / Software Engineering will be beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a team of 6-10 engineers.
- In depth passion to get hands dirty with coding.
- In depth understanding in at least one modern back-end development framework /language with a focus on Java, Spring Boot and/or Golang.
- In depth understanding in at least one modern front-end development framework with a focus on ReactJS. Experience in Vanilla JS, CSS and JQuery.
- In depth understanding working on SQL & NoSQL Databases such as MongoDB,MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis etc. Hand-on experience in query optimizations and data modeling for scale and performance.
- In depth understanding of Software Design Patterns and Enterprise Integration Patterns.
- In depth understanding of application performance optimizations both in backend and frontend.
- In depth understanding of MSA, DevOps, Observability and Domain Driven Design.
- A very good understanding on containerization and K8s stack.
- Preferred experience in Elasticsearch and Kibana (ELK Stack) or similar.
- Preferred experience with messaging systems like RabbitMQ or similar.
- Deep dive, problem-solving, RCA and systematic thinking to reach to the cause of issues.
- Able to work independently and multi-task effectively.
