Position Overview
The Senior Manager / Principal in Statutory Audit will lead audit engagements, manage client relationships, and oversee audit teams in conducting high-quality audits in compliance with regulatory standards.
This role requires a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification, with significant experience in statutory audits, financial reporting, and team management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting standards, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to mentor and develop team members.
Key Responsibilities Audit Planning Strategy
- Lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of statutory audit engagements.
- Develop comprehensive audit plans and strategies, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
- Analyze complex financial reports and identify key audit risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on audit, accounting, and financial matters. - Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and action plans effectively with senior management and audit committees.
- Proactively resolve client issues and queries to maintain high levels of client satisfaction. Regulatory Compliance Standards - Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with IFRS, GAAP, and local regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards, auditing practices, and regulatory requirements, applying them to audits as needed. Team Leadership Development
- Manage, mentor, and coach a team of audit professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. - Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support career development for team members.
- Lead training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge. Quality Assurance Risk Management - Maintain high standards for audit quality, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. - Identify and manage engagement risks, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.
- Conduct thorough reviews of audit workpapers, financial statements, and disclosures, providing final sign-offs as required.
