Job Summary
As a Principal Product Manager - SEO, you will own the development and execution of our organic search strategy, enhancing user experience, and driving measurable growth in traffic and conversion. You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, content, and marketing teams to create SEO-friendly product features and improvements. This role requires a balance of deep SEO expertise, technical knowledge, and product management skills to optimize website performance and search engine visibility
Roles & Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- SEO Strategy Development: Define and own the SEO product strategy to improve organic visibility and traffic, aligning with broader business goals and KPIs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, design, content, and marketing teams to implement SEO best practices across product features, architecture, and content strategies.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze SEO performance using tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, and others to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, providing data-backed recommendations.
- Product Development: Lead SEO-related product initiatives from concept through launch, working with developers to ensure all product updates are search engine friendly (e.g., site speed, mobile optimization, structured data).
- Technical SEO: Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that site architecture, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are optimized for crawling, indexing, and ranking by search engines.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly track and report on SEO KPIs (e.g., rankings, traffic, conversions) and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- A/B Testing & Experimentation: Conduct SEO-related experiments to validate hypotheses and improve SEO performance, such as testing different on-page optimizations, content formats, or link-building strategies.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to other product managers and SEO team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
Years Of Experience
10+ years of Product Management Experience
Education Qualification & Certifications
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Primary Skills (must Have)
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in product management, with a strong focus on SEO and web technologies.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of technical SEO concepts (e.g., crawling, indexing, canonicalization, schema markup) and experience working with engineering teams.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in using SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Botify, etc) and web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in improving organic search performance and driving measurable business results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Agile Mindset: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Secondary Skills (desired)
Experience with e-commerce platforms or marketplaces.
