Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget. As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. The E-Business Suite Advanced Procurement & Contracts Product Management team is responsible for a suite of applications that cover the Source-to-Settle flow and are used extensively by Fortune 1000 companies dotting the globe to run the Buy-side of their business. We drive innovation into their organizations, delivering key new capabilities, using cutting-edge technologies such as in-memory databases and targeted mobile solutions to help them improve performance. We are looking for outstanding Product Managers to join this team.
Brief Description
We're looking for candidates that can act as the driving force to craft product designs and then push them through the engineering, quality, documentation and marketing activities needed to bring each new concept through to completion. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate the strong organizational skills necessary to ensure projects/products are delivered on-schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Product Management team, you will be driving the analysis of market requirements, designing solutions, assessing technical issues through collaboration with the engineering team, writing functional specification for your design, reviewing functional test specifications and taking the product/feature to market. You will be involved/responsible for customer and partner communications (Customer Advisory Boards, Partner Summits) related to your product areas. You will also review product documentation and collateral and ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities. You will contribute to the development of product collateral, presentations, demos, sales and consulting training and competitive analysis, as appropriate. You also need to be familiar with competition, emerging technologies and market trends. Your success is measured on how your products perform in the market and how satisfied your customers are with the products you own.
Skills
- 8+ years experience working in a product management or functional consultant role for ERP/application (preferably with e-procurement applications) developing solutions for customers/clients
- Proven project management skills and ability to manage complex, cross-organizational activities
- Proven ability to identify and develop customer opportunities and map that back into product requirements
- Exhibit a strong sense of ownership and a drive towards execution and delivery
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proven ability to develop and present investment cases to senior management
- Strong analytical and problem solving ability, strong research skills and the ability to learn quickly
- Leading contributor individually and as a team member; ability to provide direction and mentor others
- Experience with Oracle Applications (preferably the E-Business Suite Advance Procurement modules) and/or other ERP
- Experience in Software solution design would be an advantage
- Preferred Qualifications: BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 years of software engineering or related experience.
