Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Lead with deep expertise in Laravel/PHP. You will play a dual roleleading our development team while actively participating in backend coding. This role requires a leader who is passionate about translating business needs into technical solutions, mentoring junior developers, and optimizing the platform for growth. You will also be responsible for understanding the full system architecture, including database design, APIs, and system interactions, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Mentor: Manage and mentor a small team of Laravel developers, helping them understand both technical and business contexts.
- Hands-on Development: Write clean, maintainable code in Laravel/PHP, including creating new APIs, optimizing database queries, and implementing backend features.
- System Architecture: Oversee the architecture of our system, ensuring scalability and reliability as we grow. Maintain a deep understanding of table structures and system interactions.
- Business and Technical Alignment: Work closely with the product manager and leadership to translate business needs into technical specifications and action items.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation for APIs, database tables, and system workflows to ensure knowledge sharing and onboarding efficiency.
- Code Review: Conduct regular code reviews to ensure high-quality, consistent development practices and adherence to best practices.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in the platform, ensuring smooth performance across all features.
- Feature Roadmap: Collaborate on the feature roadmap and help prioritize tasks that align with business goals and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in PHP development, with at least 3 years working with Laravel.
- Previous experience in a technical lead or team lead role, managing a small team of developers.
- Strong understanding of relational databases (preferably MySQL) and API development.
- Proven experience designing and scaling system architectures for growing businesses.
- Ability to understand and translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Comfortable balancing hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities.
Bonus:
