The Cloud Adoption Architect (CAA) is responsible for overseeing the consumption of OCI services bought by the customer and acts as a trusted advisor throughout their cloud migration journey. The CAA will assist customers in advancing their OCI deployments and maximizing the business value derived from them.
The Cloud Adoption Architect (CAA) will work with customers, sales, and engineering/product teams to design, demonstrate, and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that tackle customer business challenges. Their goal is to boost Oracle Cloud consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services through the phases of discovery, design, and deployment.
Serves as the main point of contact for all cloud-related issues and advocates for the customer's perspective within Oracle.

Cloud Adoption Architect Core Skills
- Deep understanding of OCI Cloud platforms, technology and migration processes and tools. Provide implementation guidance, product expertise and best practices to better optimize customer's use of OCI,..etc
- Ability to architect cloud solutions for migrating workloads from on-prem / 3rd party cloud to OCI.
- Deep understanding of Cloud platforms, technology and migration processes and tools.
- Drive OCI consumption in partnership with the pre-sales teams - Enterprise architect and Cloud Platform Rep
- Help identify new workloads for migration which will ensure we sustain and increase customer's OCI consumption.
- Identify and position select operational excellence engagements which will help increase the maturity of the customer's OCI deployment and ensure they manage their tenancy more effectively.
- Facilitate escalation support management for business impacting high severity issues for the customer, which will help improve customer satisfaction.
- Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of competitive and industry knowledge in the field of Cloud migration, deployment and management is highly desirable.
- Relevant experience in Oracle Database Administration, Exadata Cloud Systems, Golden Gate, Maximum Availability Architecture, Oracle Packaged Apps, Network, Storage and Security.
- Possess relevant cloud certifications in core cloud architecture and specializations. For e.g., OCI (Professional, Cloud operations, OCI Developer), ADW, OCI Enterprise Operations, or equivalent AWS, Azure and GCP certifications
- Project management expertise (PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Engages with North America strategic customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations to design and implement solutions. Collaborates directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions.
Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers, and at conferences, and events.
Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training.
Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Serves as a leading contributor for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success.
Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Leading contributor may provide direction and mentoring to others.
Ability to travel 20% international and domestic as needed.
Preferred Qualifications Include
Bachelor of Science / Engineering-level university degree in Computer Science or Engineering from accredited university.
Relevant 15+ years technical experience in Oracle Database Administration, Exadata Cloud Systems, Golden Gate, Maximum Availability Architecture, Oracle Packaged Apps, Network, Storage and Security.
Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in cloud tenancy is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
