Job Title: Principal - Venture Capital
Role Overview: Principal at Artha Group has a dynamic and influential role. This position manages a robust portfolio of 15-20 companies and executes 8-12 new investments annually. It serves as a critical bridge to partnership and requires exceptional leadership, deep investment acumen, and a proven track record in venture capital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management: Oversee and nurture the development of 15-20 portfolio companies, providing strategic direction and operational guidance to foster growth and market leadership.
- Investment Execution: Spearheading the sourcing, evaluation, and completion of 8-12 new investments each year, identifying opportunities that align with Artha Group's strategic goals.
- Fundraising and Investor Relations: Participate actively in fundraising efforts, develop new pipelines for limited partners, and maintain strong relationships with investors, including institutional and large investors. Play a key role in investor relations, ensuring transparent and timely updates.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and lead junior team members, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the venture capital division.
- Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with managing partners and investment committees on strategic market research and initiatives to support the growth of portfolio companies and secure follow-on funding rounds.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA or CA), with additional qualifications highly regarded.
- 5-8 years of experience in venture capital or private equity, with significant experience in managing an extensive portfolio and executing numerous investments annually.
- Demonstrated ability in deal sourcing, due diligence, financial analysis, and negotiation.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical skills, and communication capabilities.
