Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Power BI Engineer with 4-8 years of experience to deliver impactful dashboards and reports using
Smartsheet / SQL / SSRS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, visualization, and data transformation, with a focus on providing actionable insights to drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Modeling: Design and optimize data models that support dynamic reports and dashboards.
- Dashboard Development: Create interactive and visually compelling dashboards in Power BI, leveraging Smartsheet data.
- Smartsheet Expertise: Utilize Smartsheet effectively to visualize and analyze data, ensuring seamless integration with Power BI.
- DAX Mastery: Utilize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for advanced calculations and data manipulation within Power BI.
- Data Transformation: Transform raw data into an analyzable format, ensuring data integrity and relevance.
- Data Source Connectivity: Connect to various data sources, including databases, cloud services, and APIs, to consolidate data for analysis.
- Power Query: Employ Power Query for data extraction and transformation to streamline reporting processes.
- SQL Proficiency: Write efficient SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases.
- SSRS Development: Design and develop reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to meet business reporting needs.
- Problem Solving: Apply critical thinking to address complex data challenges and optimize reporting solutions.
- Effective Communication: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and present insights clearly and concisely.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on Power BI, SSRS, and industry best practices to enhance reporting capabilities.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Smartsheet and its integration with Power BI.
- Advanced knowledge of DAX for complex data calculations.
- Strong skills in data transformation and preparation techniques.
- Experience with Power Query for ETL processes.
- Familiarity with SQL for querying and managing databases.
- Expertise in SSRS for creating, deploying, and managing reports.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) is a plus.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality practices.
