Job Description
As a Postgres Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of our PostgreSQL databases. You will work closely with our development team to ensure database integrity, optimize performance, and support new application features.
Responsibilities
Design and implement database solutions using PostgreSQL.
Develop, optimize, and maintain database schemas, tables, views, and functions.
Write complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
Ensure data security, integrity, and consistency.
Collaborate with software developers to support application development and deployment.
Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement improvements.
Perform database tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
Create and maintain documentation for database designs, configurations, and processes.
Provide support for database migrations, upgrades, and backups.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and incidents.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Postgres Developer or similar role.
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL.
Experience with database design, development, and administration.
Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Knowledge of data modeling and database architecture.
Experience with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with NoSQL databases and other RDBMS.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for database automation.
Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
Certification in PostgreSQL or related technologies.
