Working closely with one of the three most extensively cited and heavily read FinTech scholars in the world Scientia Professor Ross Buckley, you'll contribute towards the research effort of the UNSW Law & Justice Faculty (School of Private & Commercial Law) by undertaking independent and or team research on Scientia Professor Buckley's Australian Research Council (ARC) Laureate Research Program entitled The Financial Data Revolution: Seizing the Benefits, Controlling the Risks.

Skills And Experience Required
For Level A, you should possess a PhD in Law, economics, finance, political science, or a related field, or have equivalent research and/or professional experience, such as working as a banking and finance or technology lawyer. You'll be able to demonstrate strong research capacity and experience in exploring the interactions between law and policy, along with the ability to conduct independent research, including qualitative and empirical studies. A track record of high-quality publications and conference presentations is essential. You'll also have strong organisational skills, including the ability to coordinate day-to-day- aspects of research projects and meet deadlines. You must also demonstrate the capacity to work effectively as part of a team, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and show an understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives, and values, as well as relevant policies and guidelines. Additionally, knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant training are required.
For Level B,in addition to the qualifications and skills for Level A, you need to demonstrate your commitment to staying up to date with discipline developments, your track record of high-quality outcomes in research, and clear evidence of the desire and ability to achieve research excellence. Significant involvement with the profession and/or industry is desirable. You should demonstrate the ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships; and you should be able to maintain a sound governance framework for research activities and ensure appropriate ethics approval, reporting, and documentation of research outcomes.
This position can be a fractional appointment at 0.8 or 0.6 FTE.
