Job Description

Company Description

Hi, were Nexthink. Were not just the leader in the digital employee experience category, we invented the category. Our solutions combine real-time analytics, automation and employee feedback across all endpoints to help IT teams delight people at work. Our cloud-native platform pinpoints issues and solutions, automates response, and helps companies continuously improve their employees experience, making them more productive, efficient, and happy at work. We have millions of endpoints deployed, weve surpassed $100M in ARR, and weve recently secured $180M in Series D financing for a company valuation of $1.1B, but were just getting started.

Job Description

At Nexthink, we provide our customers with class-leading products to enable continuous improvement of employee experience. We deliver unparalleled visibility across all environments so IT teams can consistently see, diagnose, and fix digital workplace issues. The 50+ engineering teams that develop our products and services rely on Nexthink's internal Technical Platform to develop, deploy, and scale our cloud infrastructure and services.

The platform engineering teams of the Technical Platform group cover the operational necessities of the entire lifecycle of an application by providing standardized tooling, processes, and self-service capabilities so developers can deliver product features of high quality and efficiency. This includes building tools, testing automation and environments, CICD and deployment pipelines, and solutions for observability and monitoring. They also provide similar toolchains and workflows to the SRE and CloudOps teams to provision and reliably operate all the cloud infrastructure like networking, data stores, container orchestration, and other critical components that support the Nexthink products.

Join the small teams of diverse and experienced engineers that have full ownership of their domains, right from the requirements and design phase all the way through implementation, validation, and deployment (though there is a dedicated Operations team that handles the production environments). Youll be part of a group that embraces DevOps and CICD principles, tries to automate everything they can, cares for quality and maintainability, and works together to build a world-class internal developer platform with modern technologies and best practices.

Were not all there yet, but we have already started the journey, and if this sounds challenging and interesting to you, wed love to have you with us!

As a Platform Engineer, you will:

  • Design, implement, deliver and operate an internal development platform for the wider Engineering organisation
  • Work with product development teams to understand the needs for building, testing and deploying releases, and translate those needs to standardized platform components
  • Build self-service tooling and capabilities for development and operations teams to provision, manage and operate cloud infrastructure
  • Build CI/CD tooling and processes that accelerate the entire product release cycle (from delivering cloud infrastructure, all the way to customer facing features)
  • Participate in all stages of software development and collaborate with different stakeholders like Architecture, Security, Operations and Product Management
  • Help the team maintain high code quality standards and improve best practices
  • Work with the agile iterative/incremental mindset
  • Be open-minded to learn new technologies and programming languages when needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 6-11 years of experience in software development, ideally on a platform team
  • Experience with infrastructure and deployment automation on cloud-based platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.), using infrastructure as code (Cloud Formation, Terraform, etc.), configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet) and pipeline creation tools (like Jenkins)
  • Solid understanding of the network stack (TCP/IP, VPN, HTTP, SSL, routing, etc.), cloud topologies (VPC, Virtual Subnets, NACLS, NSG, ILB, ELB, etc.) and storage (S3, EBS, Azure Files etc)
  • Experience dealing with internationally distributed teams will be highly valued
  • Excellent communication skills

And proficiency in written and spoken English
