Job Title:Platform Engineer
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore

Impact & contribution:The purpose of this role is to provide sound input and decision guidance to drive excellence, quality and performance for an IT service, across one or multiple portfolios.

The role has:

• Active responsibility to work with, and direct technical resources to design, engineer and utilise standardised IT services, to promote business value.
• Accountability to ensure solution designs and utility of provided services meet the ongoing technology requirements for business, projects, and IT&T stakeholders

Roles & responsibilities:

• Undertake solution design and engineering of reusable IT services, to provide business value across multiple programmes and initiatives.
• Provide technical consulting and advice to projects to ensure alignment to IT&T strategy, architectures, and utilisation of standardised IT services
• Practice engineering principles, patterns, standards and guidelines across projects and programmes
• Analyse a wide range of technical data within systems and processes, to anticipate and address problems, or identify improvement opportunities
• Identify and mitigate issues or risks associated with design or solution proposals
• Facilitate and contribute to transitioning target architecture from current to desired state
• Provide feedback on effectiveness of target solution architecture, including any comments that impact or change the target solution architecture and standards
• Develop both conceptual and technical models to identify areas for IT service standardisation, use and development, to meet business objectives
• Ensure the utility of accountable IT services is maintained, with proactive management strategies implemented to maintain alignment to target architecture
• Promote CBA reference model concepts and comply with CBA reference model terminology
• Contribute to the documenting of current infrastructure services to ensure better future technology roadmaps
• Contribute to the setting and adherence of IT engineering standards
• Work with project teams to utilise available standardised IT services within conceptual designs
• Provide technical direction for system scope issues during proposals and design

Essential skills:

• 6+ Years of experience in relevant field.
• Strong technical experience and understanding of technologies including
  • SQL 2005 - SQL 2016
  • SSDE, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
  • Windows Server Failover Cluster experience
  • Thorough understanding Availability Groups and their implementation
  • Performance monitoring and reporting
  • Performance tuning
• Experience in IT architecture or design
• Key attributes for role (mandatory):
• Ability to read, understand and produce detailed technical artefacts.
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Very Strong Troubleshooting skills.
• Needs to be able to work independently to work towards the goals of the team.
• Scripting/Programming skills (PowerShell, TSQL).

Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
