Job Description:
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design and implement a production-ready AWS Landing Zone tailored for a regulated financial environment. This role involves working with service mesh technologies, API gateways, Privileged Access Management (PAM), and observability tools while ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations. You will build scalable, secure infrastructure using best practices and tools such as Istio, Kong, Dynatrace, Fortigate, and AWS native services, ensuring smooth and secure operations.
Must have experience:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience architecting and managing AWS environments in a regulated industry, including finance.
- Proven experience with EKS, Istio service mesh and Kong API Gateway in production environments.
- Strong experience with security and monitoring solutions like Dynatrace, Fortigate, and AWS-native security tools (Security Hub, GuardDuty, WAF).
- Expertise in implementing Privileged Access Management (PAM) and securing privileged actions within cloud environments.
Skills and Certifications:
- AWS Certified (Solutions Architect, Security, or DevOps) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of AWS security frameworks, networking, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, FCA, PRA).
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and automation of infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes (EKS), container orchestration, and Docker.
- Experience in integrating observability tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with container security scanning tools (e.g., Trivy, Aqua Security).
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud security practices.
- Familiarity with serverless technologies (AWS Lambda, API Gateway) and their security best practices.
