Job Description
As a Plant and Equipment Asset Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and procurement of all plant and equipment assets within the construction company. You will ensure optimal utilization of assets, manage lifecycle costs, and contribute to the efficiency and profitability of construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Asset Management:
- - Develop and implement asset management strategies to maximize the lifecycle and performance of plant and equipment.
- - Monitor asset utilization, availability, and performance metrics to optimize operational efficiency.
- - Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- - Coordinate maintenance schedules and repairs to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness.
- - Oversee preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce repair costs.
- - Manage relationships with external service providers and suppliers for maintenance and repair services.
- - Monitors and coordinates the service performed by outside contractors in accordance to the contract, leases, service agreements and warranties.
- - Ensure timely response to services request from the execution team to repair or replace capital equipments.
- - Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts, tools and supplies.
- - Train & supervise subordinates and assist training for all employees on safety & emergency.
- - Conduct continuous inspection on the capital equipments to ensure the compliance with the relevant fire and statutory safety laws.
- - Maintain a clean and orderly work area free of safety hazards.
- Procurement and Disposal:
- - Identify equipment needs based on project requirements and future forecasts.
- - Plan and execute procurement activities including vendor selection, negotiations, and contract management.
- - Manage the disposal or replacement of obsolete or underperforming assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Financial Management:
- - Prepare and manage budgets for plant and equipment operations, maintenance, and capital expenditures.
- - Analyze financial data and report on key performance indicators related to asset management and operational efficiency.
- - Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize asset-related expenses.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- - Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, maintenance history, and operational performance.
- - Generate regular reports and presentations for senior management on asset utilization, performance, and financial metrics.
- - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding asset management and reporting.
- - Keep all record pertaining to assets under management and cost of facility while the original document submitted to the Financial Controller.
- - Maintain appropriate equipment operating logbook.
- - Assist in the preparation of capital expenditures and maintenance budget.
- - Maintain purchasing record, equipment manuals etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in plant and equipment management within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction equipment, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in asset management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
- Typically office-based with frequent visits to construction sites and equipment yards.
- May require occasional travel to supplier facilities or project sites.
- Work hours may vary based on project deadlines and operational requirements.

Good personality, mature and a team player as well as ability work under pressure; important to be very hands-on as he needs to maintain all equipment, take preventive maintenance, repair or fix problems of all engineering equipment.
