- You will provide Piping Designer services to Worley, and its customers and may provide technical support within the Piping team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Participation
- Carry out S3D Modeling from PID ensuring clash free model
- Carry out S3D Modeling ensuring access, approach etc.
- Resolve Clashes
- Conversant with the Navis Worx can smoothly navigate Model
- Conversant with the Smart Plant Review can smooth navigate Model
- Understand the Model Ensure Model wrt 30%, 60% 90% Readiness
- Perform checking of Other Discipline Drawings
- Incorporate the back check comments
- Carry out and supervise the preparation of Design Drawings and Documentation as directed by the Lead Engineer or Lead Designer.
- Assist in the review and selection of equipment and materials as directed by the Lead Engineer or Lead Designer.
- Review vendors drawings for equipment as directed by the Lead Engineer or Lead Designer.
- Supervise and perform checking of all drawings prior to submission of the Lead Engineer or Lead Designer for approval.
- Supervise the application of technical knowledge to the Engineering Design and ensure that a consistently high standard is maintained.
2. Working To Company And Department Official Instructions
- Ensure that all work is in accordance with Company and Departmental Procedures, Methods and Specific Project Instructions.
3. Deviations From Official Procedures And Methods
- Refer all requests to deviate from Official Procedures, Methods, and Instructions to the Lead Engineer or Lead Designer for his consideration and approval.
4. Budget / Planning
When acting as Lead Designer:
- Review Project Planning Schedule to establish that all activities and dates are realistic.
- Supervise Drawing Office work of subordinates to ensure completion within allocated manhour budget.
- Monitor and report on draughting progress, manhour usage, including any anticipated over - run to the Lead Engineer.
5. Client Liaison
- Ensure that all work is in compliance with Client s Standards and Engineering Practices as detailed in the Project Co-ordination procedure.
6. Liaison With Other Design Groups:
- Review all relevant drawings produced by other Groups.
- Maintain contact with other Groups to ensure:
a) They are acquainted with the requirements which affect them.
b) That interface areas are adequately covered.
7. Site Problems:
- Ensure that site queries relating to installation drawings are processed quickly, and important problems are referred to the Lead Engineer or Lead Designer for necessary action.
8. Unresolved Problems:
- Refer all unresolved problems to the Lead Engineer or Lead Designer.
9. General:
- Refer to the Group Manager, suggestions for improving existing, or implementing new Standards, Methods or Procedures which would improve the efficiency of production.
- Partake in development activities for introducing new techniques and aids
10. Miscellaneous :
- In addition, carry out such tasks from time to time as directed by his next senior commensurate with the work expected of this position.
Qualifications And Skills
- A Diploma in either Engineering discipline or a Certificate in Drafting Trade.
