Mercury Studios is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Photographer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong technical understanding of photography equipment, and a collaborative spirit. As an Assistant Photographer, you will support the Lead Photographer in all aspects of the photography process, from pre-production to post-production.
Shoot Preparation:
- Assist in setting up and breaking down photography equipment and sets.
Ensure all camera equipment, lighting, and props are ready and in optimal condition.
- Conduct location scouting and help with securing permits as needed.
On-Shoot Duties:
- Support the Lead Photographer during shoots by adjusting lighting, positioning subjects, and managing on-set logistics.
Handle secondary camera operations as directed.
- Manage digital files, including downloading and organizing images during and after shoots.
Post-Shoot Tasks:
- Assist in the initial selection and culling of photos.
Perform basic editing and retouching using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
- Collaborate with the post-production team to ensure timely delivery of final images.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain an organized and clean studio environment.
Stay up-to-date with the latest photography trends and technologies.
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute creative ideas.
Provide administrative support, such as scheduling shoots and maintaining client communication as needed.
Proven experience as an Assistant Photographer or in a similar role.- Proficiency with professional camera equipment (Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc.) and lighting setups.
Strong knowledge of photography principles, techniques, and editing software (Adobe Creative Suite).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Creative mindset with a keen eye for aesthetics and details.
- A degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
