Job Title: Phonics Teacher

• Job Overview:

The Phonics Teacher is responsible for teaching foundational reading skills to young learners, focusing on phonemic awareness, phonics, and early literacy development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, a deep understanding of phonics instruction, and the ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.

• Key Responsibilities:

Phonics Instruction:

• Deliver high-quality phonics lessons that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards.

Use a variety of instructional techniques to teach students the relationship between letters and sounds, blending, segmenting, and decoding words.

• Foster a love for reading by introducing age-appropriate texts and materials that reinforce phonics skills.

Curriculum Development:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans that are age-appropriate and tailored to the needs of individual students.

Assess students progress regularly and adjust instructional methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

• Integrate phonics instruction with other areas of the curriculum, such as writing, spelling, and comprehension.

Student Assessment:

• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas where additional support is needed.

Provide feedback to students and parents on progress, areas for improvement, and strategies for continued growth in literacy skills.

• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate results to the school administration and parents.

Classroom Management:

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and encourages student participation.

Implement effective behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful classroom atmosphere.

• Manage classroom resources effectively, including instructional materials and technology.

Parental Involvement:

• Engage with parents and guardians to discuss their child's progress and ways they can support phonics learning at home.

Organize and participate in parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and other events to foster a collaborative approach to early literacy development.

• Professional Development:

Stay current with the latest research and best practices in phonics instruction and early childhood education.

• Participate in professional development opportunities offered by the school and external organizations.

• Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field. A teaching credential/certification in early literacy or phonics instruction is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience teaching phonics or early literacy to young children, preferably in a classroom setting.Skills:

• Strong understanding of phonics principles and instructional methods.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching young children.

• Proficiency with educational technology and tools for phonics instruction.

• Working Conditions:
