Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The candidate will support the fulfillment of a portfolio of technical asset management contracts for solar and BESS renewable energy projects, provide engineering consulting services, and support the Portfolio Management, Onboarding and Technical Asset Management teams. Responsibilities include:

  • Fulfill technical requirements of the Asset Management contracts including:
  • Track and verify Operations & Maintenance (O&M) providers response to equipment outages and performance deficiencies
  • Manage and maintain tickets reflecting Operations and Maintenance issues
  • Identification of equipment issues and project underperformance
  • Maintain Radians internal software database, Lens, for tracking physical characteristics of the asset, communications, and data integrity
  • Review and correct project data for monthly client reports
  • Track Performance and Availaiblity Guarantees and work with O&M provider to address anomalies
  • Provide feedback to Technical Lead and Portfolio Manager on O&M performance and field operations
  • Assist with Technical Onboarding of new solar sites including:
  • Review drawings and identify assets
  • Creation of asset hierarchy
  • Mapping of data against assets
  • Review and evaluation of incoming data
  • Other responsibilities:
  • Documentation of processes and procedures
  • Monitoring of site performance
  • Tracking of emergency weather events
  • Discuss technical issues with technical and non-technical internal audiences

Preferred Experience

Solar / renewable energy experience preferred

Required Qualification & Education

The minimum required qualifications for this position is as follows:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, or a related energy field from a four-year university OR work-related experience in renewable energy / power generation

To perform the job successfully, the candidate should demonstrate competencies in performing the essential functions of this position by performing satisfactorily in each of these competencies.

  • Oral/written communication: Listens carefully and speaks clearly and professionally in all situations. Edits work for accuracy and clarity, is able to create, read, and interpret complex written information. Ability to develop strong interpersonal networks within the organization. Experience reviewing project agreements & terms, with the ability to identify material terms a plus.
  • Planning/organizing: Prioritizes and plans work activities, project timelines, tracks project deadlines, and uses time efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and is able to deal with frequent interruptions, changes, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Problem solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and reviews information appropriately. Uses own judgment and acts independently; seeks input from other team members as appropriate for complex or sensitive situations.
  • Passion: Demonstrates passion to learn in a rapidly growing and oftentimes unstructured environment.
  • Technology: Proficient in the use of Microsoft products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Prepares and / or provides ad hoc reports for executive management use.
  • Reporting: Experience in data analysis and reporting.

  • Solar industry best practices
  • Energy storage concepts
  • Power generation concepts
  • Familiarity with module/inverter/tracking system technology
  • Electrical and solar equipment testing procedures
