As part of this transformation journey the global payroll team are initiating a payroll standardisation and consolidation program starting with India to harmonize payroll processes, ways of working and streamlined vendor solutions ahead of integration to Workday.
What you'll be doing:
The APAC (India) Payroll Data & Reporting Lead will be responsible for defining the strategy and process of data migration, transformation and load activity as well as the report development across each local agency within a market. They will be responsible for working with both the current incumbent payroll providers and WPP's newly appointed payroll providers to ensure a successful data migration.
The role will require the APAC (India) Payroll Data & Reporting Lead to partner with the business analysts to ensure a clear understanding and documentation of the data requirements as per the new system configuration and work with local payroll teams to extract the required data, transform where required and review prior to load to the new solution.
The APAC (India) Payroll Data & Reporting Lead will also be responsible for working with a team of dedicated data analysts to define required data transformation logic where applicable and responsible for data quality control and review of testing from a data perspective using Alteryx for the process.
Reporting to the Global WPP Workday Data lead to ensure that data governance is being adhered to and WPP risk and controls/compliance / local data laws are respected and incorporated into the local data management strategy including data storage, transfer, data retention as well as ensuring data alignment between Workday day and the payroll vendors solution for future data integrations.
- Define and manage the data migration strategy and data migration process activity across WPP's APAC markets between the current payroll solutions and the new payroll vendors solutions
- Partnering with the APAC regional delivery lead and business analysts to understand the data requirements as per the new system configuration and work with local payroll teams to extract the required data, transform where required and review prior to load to the new solution.
- Partnering with WPP's Workday and WPP's People Data teams to ensure alignment of global data dictionaries and data descriptions for alignment of systems and system integrations to enable quality data reporting across the technology stack.
- Managing and supporting a team of 3 dedicated APAC data analysts to define required data transformation logic and develop Alteryx data processes and workflows to enable data files for load within the new payroll solutions.
- Responsible for ensuring data review and sign off within agencies across markets in scope prior to data loads
- Responsible for ensuring data quality control and review of testing from a data perspective.
- Partnering with the Global WPP Data Protection Officer to ensure that data governance is being adhered to and WPP risk and controls/compliance / local data laws are respected and incorporated into the local data management strategy including data storage, transfer and data retention policies.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data management, data migration, data analysis or related field within the HR or Payroll space.
- Experience in managing large-scale data migration projects across markets. Ideally experience with large scale transformation programs within HR and Payroll such as Workday or similar
- Strong understanding of data structures within payroll systems such as ADP, Alight, Ceridian, or others
- Strong understanding of data quality control and testing methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of payroll systems and processes would be an advantage.
