As part of this transformation journey the global payroll team are initiating a payroll standardisation and consolidation program starting with India to harmonize payroll processes, ways of working and streamlined vendor solutions ahead of integration to Workday.

What you'll be doing:

WPP are seeking a Project Manager on an India payroll consolidation program as part of WPPs wider transformation program. The project manager will work directly with the internal program delivery team, Wider WPP internal stakeholders and external payroll vendors, ensuring deliverables are completed according to measures of quality, time, and scope. The Project Manager will be responsible for drafting the scheduling, monitoring and reporting on project progress, ensuring status updates, decision logs and RAID items are detailed and ready for Steerco reporting.

This dedicated and collaborative individual is a well-rounded project management professional, who will fit with our collaborative culture. The successful candidate will:

  • Oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects, simultaneously.
  • Establish goals, tasks, dependencies, target dates & timelines, activities, owners of tasks/actions, and status for projects within the team.
  • Be comfortable working in both an Agile and a traditional Project Management environment, depending on the project.
  • Be the right hand for the business team; anticipate their needs to further the projects success.
  • Facilitate meetings and communicate updates to project stakeholders (project team, external clients, Sr. management and the executive team) as needed.
  • Prepare and publish weekly project reports/status for the internal team and management to be informed of the projects health (i.e., open/at risk/completed items)
  • Coach the team as needed in best practices relative to project methodology.
  • Ensure the committed work is delivered to specification.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand the scope of the project and ensure project requirements are communicated clearly to the Development teams.
  • Champion an iterative planning process; work with the team to define the work that will be packaged into releases and delivered.
  • Create and manage technical plans, ascertained by working with the project team to define the deliverables that will be developed in each release of the product.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliverables, identifying risks, issues, and dependencies among projects.

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of experience using Traditional Project methodology with project teams in transformation programs across HR and/or Payroll programs
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • An understanding of payroll systems such as ADP, Alight, Ceridian or others.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Workday HCM is preferred.
  • Experience in managing developing data products
  • Solid knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
