The role is a key link between many parts of the business particularly our People and Payroll teams. You will be responsible for providing key support and advice to maintain compliance for the UK business as well as working with stakeholders to develop changes to processes and controls to ensure ongoing compliance with legislative or business requirements. controls to ensure ongoing compliance with legislative or business requirements.
You will be responsible for
- Supporting with people and payroll change projects as a subject matter expert in Payroll Compliance
- Monitoring ongoing compliance on key areas identified (eg NMW, holiday pay)
- Supporting with and completing, as required, Year End compliance tasks
- Reviewing payroll related data on an ongoing basis for compliance
- Working with the Redundancy Projects team to maintain compliant payroll calculations together with developing the required updates to the supporting People & Change database as necessary
- Reviewing termination payments through settlement agreements and COT3 for correct tax treatment and reporting
- Working with UK People Services, Payroll Operations, Reward, Policy, Workforce Relations and Tax as required
- Supporting Colleague Help with technical payroll related queries and Employment Tribunals
- Managing ad hoc projects impacting on payroll and benefit reporting
- Identifying and advising relevant teams of changes to regulations or reporting impacting payroll processes and operations
- Key liaison with HMRC payroll operations team and attendee at HMRC Tax Data Standards Forum
Qualifications You will need
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK payroll requirements in the context of a large group environment. Knowledge of Isle of Man regulations beneficial.
- Experience of working within a payroll team of a large UK head quartered group or in an advisory role within the profession to UK plc clients.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and experience in working in a multi-cultural environment to build working relationships with company stakeholders, external advisers, tax authorities and across the people, payroll and tax teams.
- Strong track record of delivering complex projects and managing key stakeholders.
- Able to self-manage workload and work without constant supervision.
- Able to make recommendations and decisions, keeping the leadership team updated as required.
- Ideally hold relevant Payroll qualification (e.g. CIPP, ATT)
