Job Description

- Create and prepare desserts such as cakes, pastries, cookies, and other baked goods.

- Design dessert menus by collaborating with the head chef and incorporating seasonal and regional ingredients.

- Develop new recipes and ensure the quality and presentation of desserts meet restaurant or bakery standards.

- Oversee the daily operations of the pastry section of the kitchen, including stock management, scheduling, and supply orders.

- Train and mentor junior pastry staff, ensuring that all team members adhere to food safety and quality control standards.

- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring freshness.

- Manage inventory and order supplies as necessary while maintaining a budget.

-Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, adhering to all food safety regulations and cleanliness standards.

- Adapt to dietary needs of customers, such as creating gluten-free, dairy-free, or sugar-free options.

- Decorate pastries using techniques like piping, glazing, and sugar work to meet visual and aesthetic standards.
