Position : PAEDIATRIC OPTOMETRIST
Position Overview
The Paediatric optometrist at HealthLand forms an essential part of the team.The
primary role of an Optometrist is to provide quality eye and vision care to children.
Optometrists perform comprehensive eye and vision tests and diagnose eye
defects.The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the dietetics domain,
coupled with a passion for children's well-being, to drive sales and patient
satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting eye examinations for infants, children, and teenagers
- Diagnose and manage common paediatric eye conditions like amblyopia (lazy
eye) and strabismus (eye misalignment), and provide guidance on visual
development and proper eyewear
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists,
paediatricians, and opticians, for comprehensive patient care
- Refer patients for specialised treatments or coordinate care plans to address
specific eye conditions
- Educate patients about proper eye care, visual hygiene, and preventive
measures to maintain good eye health
- Provide guidance on the use and care of eyeglasses or contact lenses, as well as
offer lifestyle recommendations to protect and optimise vision
Required Qualifications
- Graduation/Post Graduation in Optometry
- Registered Optometrist or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of paediatric nutrition guidelines, growth charts, and nutritional
assessment tools.
- Sales aptitude in recommending or selling vision care products that meet the
needs of their patients
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to explain concepts to patients
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in patient facing role at a vision care centre
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of paediatric healthcare services.
- Basic Computer operating knowledge
- Ability to use CRM tools for tracking leads and sales progress
