Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Eye Examinations:
Perform comprehensive eye exams to evaluate visual acuity, depth perception, color perception, and the ability to focus and coordinate the eyes.- Use specialized equipment to conduct diagnostic tests and determine the presence of visual or ocular health issues.
Identify and manage conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, presbyopia, and other visual disorders.
- Provide advice on eye care, preventive measures, and lifestyle choices that promote eye health.
Educate patients about their eye conditions and treatment options.- Keep accurate and detailed patient records, including examination results, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and improve professional skills.
State licensure to practice optometry.
