About The Team
This team is tasked with managing a range of activities to ensure timely and accurate payments to Lowe's carriers involved in the last mile delivery of our products. They handle the reconciliation of carrier invoices, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues to facilitate prompt payments. Additionally, the team compiles weekly payment reports for CASS, posts payments to the appropriate general ledger, and manages accrual entries for carrier credits and productivity.
Job Summary
The primary objective of this position is to lead the Market Delivery team, providing managerial, strategic, and operational guidance for a group of 12 to 13 members. This includes ensuring accurate reconciliation of freight invoices for smooth carrier payments, assisting the team in creating weekly payment reports, and overseeing the posting of payments to the general ledger and accrual entries. The role also involves designing operational strategies and reporting structures, ensuring timely payment reconciliations, and maintaining compliance with internal and external controls. Building cross-team connections and driving efficiency through cross-functional projects are essential, alongside fostering team engagement, member development, and a positive workplace culture. Additionally, the individual will implement financial policies, risk control matrices, standard operating procedures, and internal controls to meet regulatory requirements, such as SOX, while also focusing on the recruitment, management, and development of a high-performing team in a dynamic environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Review on daily workload management, Assigning goals & responsibility to the team, Adherence to SLA & TAT, Compliance to internal/external control.
- Plan, forecast and execute weekly/monthly deadlines to ensure relevant reports are published with audit findings
- Continuously evaluate financial risks and develop comprehensive risk-based plan for existing processes and new transitions
- Accurate closure of all Ledger with zero unidentified variance each month
- Strategize, define, and implement team processes, policies, procedures and best practices
- First point of contact for internal teams such as Helpdesk, stake holder, GL Reconciliation & Finance technology teams on issues that has an impact on timely and accurate freights payment.
- Proactively communicate financial risk findings to leaders, partners and team members
- Create training roadmap to ensure team training needs are met and all process gaps and controls are addressed in a timely manner
- Support hiring needs by conducting interviews
- Coach, Develop & counsel team and associates to facilitate individual development
- Administers timely performance reviews, and ensures a high quality of team member performance and the other expectation as per the policies and procedures
- Responsible to maintain a highly engaged team who can play a larger role towards the success of organization
- Works on special projects as assigned.

Years Of Experience
- 8-10 years experience in retail accounting & freights payable with 2-3 years of supervisory role

- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance)
Skill Set Required
Primary Skills (must have)
- Experience in accounting, freight payable, leadership, problem solving, process improvement, and communication
- Strong skills in the following areas: RPA, Data Analytics, Ability to handle multiple projects, Attention to detail,
- Excellent in problem solving, Ability to challenge processes & process related decisions
- Hands on experience on any ERP & Data warehouse, such as SAP, Oracle, Mainframe etc.
