Summary
The Ocean and Air Imports and Exports Operations Executive is responsible for overseeing and managing the logistics operations related to the import and export of goods via ocean and air freight. This role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, optimizing shipment processes, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders involved in the supply chain.
This role may require working outside regular business hours to accommodate international shipping schedules and time zones. The position involves collaboration with various departments, including sales, customer service, finance, and warehouse operations. This position has real career advancement potential.
Responsibilities
1. Logistics Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate the shipment of goods via ocean and air freight.
- Schedule and manage the pick-up, transport, and delivery of goods.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective shipping solutions.
2. Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and review shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists,
and certificates of origin.
- Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations and customs requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments and related documentation.
3. Vendor and Carrier Management:
- Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and other third-party logistics providers.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements with carriers and service providers.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of vendors and carriers to ensure service quality.
4. Customer Service:
- Communicate with customers to provide shipment updates and address any concerns or issues.
- Resolve any shipment-related problems, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients.
5. Cost Control and Reporting:
- Monitor and control shipping costs to stay within budget.
- Prepare and analyse reports on shipping activities, costs, and performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
6. Risk Management:
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with international shipping.
- Implement best practices for the safe and secure transportation of goods.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security regulations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ocean and air freight operations, import/export procedures, and international logistics.
