Core Skills
SharePoint/Microsoft 365 Administrator Interacts with the application team and internal customers to ensure the team sites, pages, and intranet tools are available across multiple teams . This includes support to not only deploy and maintain sites but to provide continued support of new and existing sites from a technical perspective.
Functions
- Create and Administer SharePoint sites and pages based on technical requirements supplied internal stakeholders.
- Perform level two and level three support and troubleshooting when needed, including participating in on-call rotation for critical systems support after-hours.
- Develop, test, and implement batch system integrations using scripting tools.
- Develop and maintain documentation on solution designs/system topologies, issue resolutions, and routine and special procedures.
- Responsible for updating tickets in service management system and tracking time required for IT services management.
- Responsible for collaborating with IT associates to resolve complex issues.
- Setup, configure and maintain SharePoint 2010,2013,2016 and 2019 on premise infrastructure on development and production servers
- Manage, administer multi-server SharePoint 2010,2013,2016 and 2019 environments, including troubleshooting performance degradation, analyzing errors in log files and diagnosing problems
- Manage user permissions and develop appropriate lifecycle documentation to support the SharePoint design, and deployments
- Responsible for production deployments, upgrades, and patches
- Knowledge of power shell scripting
- Implement and maintain SharePoint backups, restores and disaster recovery plans
- Capacity planning for SQL storage requirements
- Experience in SharePoint cleanup including identifying orphaned items and unused content databases, migration of top-level sites to sub-sites and vice versa
- Solid understanding of IIS, Active Directory and Mail Configurations.
- Maintain and administer Microsoft SharePoint Servers, including daily monitoring, troubleshooting, patching and performance analysis.
- Install and configure SharePoint software and related components at the server level, including SQL Server, web server and application server.
- Manage the functionality of features such as Search, view the Audit Log Reports, work with site collection policies, manage the site collection caching, and activate or deactivate Site Collection features.
- Participate in planning and execution of tasks related to the evaluation of new SharePoint based initiatives (upgraded versions, patching, and integration with additional Enterprise Systems).
- Perform typical system administrative activities such as backup, restore, and issue resolution.
- Provide guidance and recommendations for enterprise deployments of SharePoint Able to understand, develop, and expert in PowerShell commands.
- Maintain current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices, and procedures for SharePoint solutions.
- Ensures compliance with policies and procedures including STIG requirements.
- Troubleshooting, customer support and, tickets, incident handling.
Requirements
- Associate, vocational, or technical degree related to information technology required or related field equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree related to information technology preferred.
- Microsoft Technology Associate, Microsoft Solutions Associate, or Microsoft Solutions Expert certification preferred.
- Experience managing Microsoft 365 services, in particular SharePoint Online, OneDrive Online, Teams, and Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI)
- 3-5 years of experience administering SharePoint in a complex environment
- Experience configuring software.
- Knowledge of Active Directory authentication.
- Knowledgeable in t-SQL, PowerShell, and/or other scripting languages
- Hands-on experience as System Administrator for maintaining SharePoint 2010/ 2013/ 2016 & SharePoint Online, MS SharePoint Server, SharePoint SME, and disaster recovery fluency for SharePoint.
- Experience with addressing server upgrades, patching, backups, licensing.
- Strong experience with modern SharePoint architecture and implementation.
- Solid experience in Troubleshooting, Help desk support and SharePoint housekeeping.
