Job Description
The O&M Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of equipment, machinery, and systems within an industrial facility. This role involves ensuring that all systems run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The O&M Engineer will collaborate with other engineering disciplines, management, and maintenance staff to achieve optimal performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
System Operations:
Monitor and control the day-to-day operations of machinery and equipment.
Ensure all systems are operating within design parameters and specifications.
Utilize SCADA, PLCs, and other automated control systems to monitor processes.
Maintenance Management:
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
Perform regular inspections and troubleshooting of equipment to identify issues.
Coordinate and supervise repair work to ensure timely and efficient resolution of problems.
Optimization:
Analyze system performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Implement modifications and upgrades to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Conduct root cause analysis of failures and implement corrective actions.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all operations and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.
Participate in safety audits and implement recommended safety measures.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of all operations and maintenance activities.
Prepare reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and compliance.
Update technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics as needed.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and operations staff.
Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and maintenance personnel.
Communicate effectively with management regarding system performance and any issues.
