Nursing Incharge (ICU)

Keep proper record ofconsumptions.

Ensure that comprehensive careis given to each patient and evaluates the services rendered.

Schedules nursing personnel toensure adequate staffing for each shift 24x7.

Collaborates with unit nursesin determining and obtaining equipments and supplies needed in the performanceof patient care.

Guide nursing personnel inidentifying patient and companions needs.

Participates in setting patientcare standards, counsel relatives when required.

Coordinates with theconsultants to ensure that good nursing care is provided.

Provides professional nursingcare within an assigned unit according to established standards and procedures.

Ensure 24x7 hours planning forassigned unit.

Ensure comprehensive care toassigned patients by unit nurses.

Keeps an up-to-dateinformation/knowledge of the unit and drug changes and instructs staff of suchchanges.

Inform Lead Nursing Servicesregarding nursing unit issues and needs, review and recommending changes in thepolicies and procedures.

Assist the Lead NursingServices in the investigation of reports of incidents, suspected infections andpatient/doctor complaints and resolves problems or recommend probable action.

Assist Lead Nursing Servicesin justification in the ordering of equipment and supplies required by theunits.

Ensure compliance with qualityand accreditation standards.

Identify appropriate internalcontrols for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance.

Ensure highest standards ofethical medical practices in the hospital.

Ensure the proper disposable ofsharps and hospital waste.

Take responsibility for the Sr.Nurses / Nurses who reports to the position.

Provide on job orientation tonursing personnel and keep them informed of the philosophies, policy andprocedures to be followed in caring for patients and their families.
