As a Network Support Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our network infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure the network runs efficiently and securely. Your role involves resolving network issues, supporting network projects, and providing technical expertise to enhance network performance.
- Roles & Responsibilities:
Network Maintenance:
Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure reliable operation.Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly, including connectivity problems, hardware failures, and performance degradation.Configuration: Configure and deploy network hardware and software, including setting up new devices, updating firmware, and managing network settings.
- Support: Provide technical support to end-users and other IT staff regarding network-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and incident reports.Security:
Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and regular security audits.Optimization: Analyze network performance and make recommendations for improvements, including upgrades and changes to network architecture.
- Collaboration: Work with other IT teams and departments to plan and execute network-related projects and upgrades.
Training:
Assist in training end-users and IT staff on network-related topics and best practices.Compliance:
Ensure network operations comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Experience:
At least 6 months of experience in network support or network engineering.Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar are preferred.
Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
Knowledge of network monitoring and diagnostic tools.- Familiarity with network security practices and technologies.
