Job brief
The Network Operation Centre (NOC) Engineers are the first level responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of the monitored network, devices, servers, and services of the organization. NOC Engineers monitor and respond to any alerts or events that get generated through monitoring applications and respond to those by creating a ticket in the helpdesk tool and notifying the customer/stake holders in a proactive manner. The ticket created must be followed up frequently until it gets resolved. Also, make sure that all tickets are under defined response and resolution SLAs. NOC Engineers will also be the first level of contact for any network issues and must respond to queries over phone calls or emails. Monitoring activities are done as a team with rotating shifts on a 24x7x365 basis.
Main Responsibilities:
Experiences in working with check point, FortiGate firewalls, Cisco routers, switches (Cisco and Aruba), Cisco Meraki devices.
Experience in configuration and managing Firewall (Fortinet, checkpoint etc.)
Strong basic conceptual understanding on networking and security technologies, protocols.
In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF etc.)
Experience with network diagnostic, troubleshooting, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., Forti analyser, network tools)
Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems and solve complex problems.
Experience in network switching VLANs, Trunks, Link Aggregation
Good understanding of basic networking LAN Wired & Wireless, WAN, DMZ, Internet, VPN & Firewalls
Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
Knowledge of public, private, and hybrid cloud computing networks and security such as Microsoft (Azure), Amazon (AWS), and Google (GCP) environments
IT service management (ITIL) processes familiarity (e.g., change, service request, problem, incident)
Prepare and maintain LLD, steady state configuration document, statement of work, and other relevant technical documents.
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
Excellent communication skills
General Responsibilities:
Maintain and update configuration documents.
Maintain assets and software license / subscriptions.
Vendor co-ordination and support
Maintain SLAs and do timely escalations.
Report all incident/service/change requests in helpdesk tool.
Provide after hour support in case of emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance.
Skills:
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Proven experience as Network administrator technician or similar role
Checkpoint and FortiGate firewall experience.
Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
Very good communication abilities
Routing, Switching, Firewall & Wireless network management.
Cisco ASA, ASR, Aruba Switch
