Job Description
The Network Architect is responsible for designing and implementing network systems that seamlessly integrate with other platforms within Garrett. This role ensures the security, scalability, performance, and reliability of the network infrastructure and integration solutions.
Key Tasks
- Analyze Business Requirements: Evaluate business needs and technical specifications to propose optimal network solutions.
- Design and Configure Infrastructure: Utilize tools and services (e.g., SDWAN, LAN, WLAN, Zero Trust Architecture, Micro-segmentation, NAC, Network Standardization) to create and configure the network infrastructure. This includes firewalls, B2B VPNs, and cloud networking platforms (e.g., VMC and AWS).
- Implement and Test Infrastructure: Deploy and test the network infrastructure, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
- Integration Strategies: Develop integration strategies using various methods and technologies, including business process automation and orchestration tools.
- Test Integration Solutions: Validate security and interoperability of integration solutions with the network infrastructure and other platforms.
- Monitor and Troubleshoot: Proactively monitor and troubleshoot network infrastructure and integration solutions, resolving any issues or incidents.
- Optimize and Update: Continuously improve efficiency and security by optimizing and updating network services and integration solutions.
- Document and Communicate: Clearly document network and integration architectures, sharing best practices with stakeholders and team members.

- As a network architect, you will be fully responsible to own the network infrastructure Strategy and Roadmap
- He will be responsible for defining, documenting, and sharing strategic technology standards, frameworks, principles, and roadmaps for our network. These guidelines will guide technology decisions and unlock efficiency opportunities across network infrastructure, services, and their integration with other applications and platforms

Enhance Network Infrastructure And Integration

- Clearly document the network architecture and integration practices. Share this information with stakeholders and team members to foster understanding and alignment.

Network Infrastructure Design and Architecture Advanced Network Design and Implementation:
- Develop and deploy intricate network services and systems, including components like Zero Trust Architecture, micro-segmentation, Network Access Control (NAC), SDWAN, LAN, WLAN, IT, OT, LAB networks, cloud networking on AWS and VMC platforms, firewalls, and B2B VPNs. These solutions should seamlessly integrate with other software applications and platforms.
- Prioritize standardization, security, resilience, scalability, performance, and reliability in the design of network infrastructure and integration solutions.
Strategic Alignment And Blueprint Creation
- Ensure that the overall network infrastructure architecture strategy aligns with business objectives and technology standards.
- Develop a comprehensive blueprint for the IT network infrastructure, encompassing networks, cloud components, and other critical elements. This design should cater to the organization's current needs and future growth.
Maintain detailed documentation of network infrastructure design, configurations, and any changes. This documentation facilitates troubleshooting and future updates.
Continuous Learning And Innovation
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to network infrastructure architecture.
- Provide recommendations for innovative solutions that enhance network efficiency and effectiveness. Stakeholder Management Alignment of strategy and roadmap with internal / external stakeholders and gain their buy in / required support

Functional Allocation and Technology Evaluation:
- Perform functional allocation to identify necessary tasks and their interrelationships.
- Develop and implement a robust, quantitative technology evaluation process.
- Document performance criteria, testing strategies, and data-driven recommendations. Service Operations & Efficiency Critical issues resolution:
- Network Architect responsibility includes swiftly addressing and resolving critical issues within the network and infrastructure domain.
- He must play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the network. When urgent problems arise, his expertise will be crucial in diagnosing the root cause, implementing effective solutions, and minimizing downtime.
- His ability to handle critical situations efficiently contributes significantly to the overall reliability of the network
Risk Mitigation And Security Measures
- Identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities in the network infrastructure design.
- Implement appropriate security measures and disaster recovery plans.
Operational Risk Management
- Implement structured follow-up procedures for mitigation measures to manage operational risks effectively.
Partner And Vendor Management
- Establish and maintain strong partner and vendor relationships.
- Regularly benchmark both performance and mindset with alternatives available in the market.
Vendor Selection And Technology Acquisition
- Evaluate and select vendors for network infrastructure-related products and services.
- Acquire necessary hardware and software to enhance the network.
- Education / Qualifications
Master's or bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Experience
- 8-10 years of experience in Network infrastructure architect or a similar role, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex network infrastructure solutions both On-premise and cloud - preferably automobile industry
