Job Description

Summary:

As a Network Manager, candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our network systems to ensure efficient and reliable connectivity. Candidate will also troubleshoot network issues, managing network security, and implementing network upgrades. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively

Responsibilities:
  • Regularly monitor network systems, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and maintain smooth operations.
Develop and implement network designs, including topology, protocols, and security measures, to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Implement and maintain security measures like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Assess network performance, identify areas for improvement, and plan upgrades and expansions to meet the organization's growing needs.
  • Lead and manage a team of network professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective and efficient performance.
Lead and mentor a team of network and security professionals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align network solutions with business objectives.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, processes, and procedures to facilitate troubleshooting, maintenance, and future enhancements.
  • Collaborate with vendors to procure network equipment, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of services and support.
Diagnose and resolve network issues, including hardware and software failures, connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks, using diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Analyse network performance data and implement strategies to optimize performance, such as bandwidth utilization, throughput, and response times.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and strategies to ensure network availability and data backup during failures or natural disasters.

Education: B. E or B.Tech, MCA or M.Tech

Certifications: Professional certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), are highly desirable.

Experience:
  • Around 6 - 9 years of experience in large, complex enterprise networks
Experience in leading a Network Operations Center (NOC)
  • Profound expertise in software defined networks (SDN) & SD-WAN-Mandatory.
Experience with multi-vendor/multi-service IP networks and equipment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, encompassing TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and wireless networks.
Proficient in network management tools and technologies, including network monitoring systems, configuration management, and performance analysis tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, adept at efficiently diagnosing and resolving complex network issues.
Effective leadership and team management skills, capable of motivating and guiding network professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Solid grasp of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access controls, and encryption techniques.
  • Knowledgeable about network virtualization technologies such as SDN (Software Defined Networking) and virtual private networks (VPNs).
Familiar with network performance optimization techniques, including Quality of Service (QoS) and traffic shaping.
  • Understanding of network devices from various OEMs such as Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel, etc. Understanding of project management principles
* Strong understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework and best practices.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to network security and data privacy, such as GDPR and HIPAA.
