Network Engineer

Job Title:NetworkEngineer

Location: Chennai, IN

Type: Fulltime

Responsibilities:

Configure and install variousnetworkdevices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN)

Performnetworkmaintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations

Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability

Securesnetworksystem by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.

Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning

Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues

Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to thenetworkinfrastructure

Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

IP address auditing.

Collaborates withnetworkarchitects onnetworkoptimization.

Requirements and skills:

Proven hands-onnetworkengineering experience

Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model

Deep understanding ofnetworking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)

Hands-on experience with monitoring,networkdiagnostic andnetworkanalytics tools

Comprehensive understanding ofnetworkservices andnetworks such as TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP

In-depth understanding and practical knowledge ofnetworking systems such as LAN,firewalls, routers and wireless access.

Ability to analyze and evaluatenetworks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensurenetworks are operating efficiently

Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot Wi-FI and security infrastructure

Time management

Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation

Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge ofnetworking technical terminology

Ability to demonstrate expertise in Lockton specificnetworking technologies and platforms.

Vendor-specific certifications preferred:

Certifications fromnetworkequipment vendors such as Cisco (e.g., CCNA, CCNP), Palo AltoNetworks (e.g., PCNSA, PCNSE) and Aruba would be preferred.
