Role: Sr. Data Engineer

Job Description:

Senior Data/Analytics Engineers bridge the gap between business and technical teams by creating trusted, scalable, and efficient data models and products. A successful Analytics Engineer can combine their technical expertise with business acumen to deliver actionable insights.

Responsibilities

As a team member responsible for helping to blend business-critical data needs with technical solutions, the Analytics Engineer role requires acumen in both domains.

Create and maintain architecture and systems documentation.

Provide cross-team support for CRM and Marketing teams.

Collect business requirements and design highly optimized data models.

Identify performance metrics definition and automation.

Assist with complex data analysis tasks.

Build trust through data conversion to data stories for internal and external consumption.

Serve as the subject matter expert for the Enterprise Data Model

Design, develop, and extend dbt code to enhance the Enterprise Dimensional Model.

Implement the DataOps philosophy in everything you do.

Create enterprise-grade reporting/data visualization solutions.

Own one or more stakeholder relationships in Go To Market, Research & Development, or General & Administrative business functions

Serve as Data Model subject matter expert and data model spokesperson, demonstrated by the ability to address questions quickly and accurately.

Advocate for the Data Quality Program and Trusted Data to help ensure all data is profiled, reviewed, and accurate to support critical decisions.

Requirements:

Experience with extracting and transforming data from cloud-native sources (Salesforce, NetSuite)

6+ years in the Data space as an analyst, engineer, scientist, or equivalent

Over 2+ years of managing the same data model system, evolving the model to meet new business requirements.

Technical knowledge of data systems and curiosity to solve business problems.

Experience with optimal data model development to drive business insights (experience with dbt strongly preferred)

Experience on leading four or more analytics projects from beginning to operationalization.

Experience on designing and socializing Entity Relationship Diagrams and reference SQL scripts to scale data understanding and adoption.

Experience working with multiple commercial data warehouses, ETL, and data visualization tools.

Expert proficiency in at least one leading BI Platform (DOMO, Tableau, Power BI)

Experience with one or more of the following business subject areas: marketing, finance, sales, product, customer success, customer support, engineering, or people.

Extensive experience in 2 or more major data subject areas (marketing, sales, finance, product, people, etc.)
