Job Description

Designation: NDT MANAGER

Experience: 15 years (relevant 12+ years Experience)

Work Location: Chennai

Domain: Oil & Gas Industry

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
  • Certification in NDT methods (Level III in UT, RT, MPT, DPT preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in NDT, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of NDT codes and standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, etc.).
  • Proven experience in managing NDT personnel and developing testing procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in NDT software and equipment.

Job Overview:

The NDT Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) operations, ensuring all testing meets quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role includes developing and maintaining NDT processes, supervising NDT personnel, and ensuring safety standards are followed. The NDT Manager will work closely with various teams, including engineering, quality, and production, to deliver high-quality results on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management:
  • Lead and manage the NDT team, including training, certification, and performance management.
  • Develop and maintain the NDT procedures in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ASNT, ISO, API).
  • Ensure all NDT activities are carried out efficiently and meet both internal and client quality requirements.
  • Process Development & Improvement:
  • Implement and maintain NDT techniques such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Eddy Current Testing (ET).
  • Identify and implement improvements in NDT processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Quality & Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
  • Review and approve NDT inspection reports and provide technical expertise when interpreting results.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure adherence to all relevant standards and certifications.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide technical expertise to project teams on NDT methods and techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to NDT testing equipment and procedures.
  • Support engineering and production teams in the development and qualification of new NDT techniques.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management:
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication regarding NDT requirements and results.
  • Provide timely reports and updates to management on NDT progress and any issues impacting project delivery.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 2,500,000.00 per year
