The Honavar Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Honavar and its surrounding regions. We have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka to establish a Cultural Museum & Gallery. This project aims to create a comprehensive repository of the region's vibrant history, arts, and traditions, while fostering sustainable development and community engagement.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Coordinator to oversee the establishment of our Cultural Museum & Gallery. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, with a strong background in project execution, museum or cultural institution operations, and sustainability practices. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage multiple stakeholders, coordinate complex activities, and ensure the successful completion of the project within the stipulated timeline and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of the Cultural Museum & Gallery project.
- Work closely with architects, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
- Be directly involved in the curation of exhibits, ensuring they reflect the rich cultural heritage of Honavar and surrounding areas.
- Manage the budget, monitor expenses, and ensure financial accountability.
- Develop and implement sustainability practices in line with global standards for green building and cultural management.
- Engage with the local community, artisans, and cultural experts to gather input and ensure the museum meets their needs and expectations.
- Plan and execute educational programs, cultural festivals, and other activities to engage the community and attract visitors.
- Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and communicate updates to the Honavar Foundation trustees and the Government of Karnataka.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Museum Studies, Arts Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in project execution, preferably in the museum, cultural, or heritage sector.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects from conception to completion.
- Strong understanding of sustainability practices and green building standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Passion for cultural preservation and community development.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
