Job Description

  • Edit and publish a minimum of 10 Movie/TV posts daily on the Features/Lists team.
    • Or write an equivalent number of articles
  • Participate in writer development and general writer management
    • Oversee and facilitate writer communication in Discord/Asana
    • Send feedback to writers according to Screen Rants standards (as per our writing guides)
    • Work with new writers to develop their skills and help them adapt to Screen Rants standards
    • Work with existing writers to develop those suitable for internal development (staff writing, self-publishing, editing)
  • Idea generation
    • Generate 10 or more ideas daily
    • Develop content plans
    • Reply to writer pitches
  • Meetings
    • Come prepared with notes and analyses in team meetings
  • Additional tasks
    • Identify evergreen articles to update (occasionally updating articles as well)
    • Other administrative tasks where required by leads
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in senior writing and editing roles (digital publications, entertainment content)
  • Broad working knowledge of Movies/TV in general, especially major franchises and popular streaming content
  • Available Friday Sunday (this is a weekend position only)
  • Quick learner with a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent command of the English language
