Job Description

Job descriptions:

A milling machine operator's job is torun and maintain a milling machine, and may include the following responsibilities:

  • Setting up the machine:Reading blueprints or CAD designs to set up the machine correctly

  • Operating the machine:Controlling the machine's movements using hand or foot levers

  • Maintaining the machine:Performing minor maintenance and servicing, or referring major issues to a supervisor

  • Loading and unloading materials:Controlling the input of materials into the mill, and removing and recycling leftover materials

  • Checking quality:Using measuring instruments to ensure the workpieces meet specifications, and fixing any defects

  • Following safety rules:Wearing protective equipment and clothing, and following safety rules and regulations

  • Cleaning:Cleaning the machine
