Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Microsoft SCCM and Intune Application Package Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and deploying software packages, updates, and patches using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune. The role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Packaging and Deployment:
- Create, test, and deploy software packages using SCCM and Intune.
- Develop custom scripts (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) to automate and streamline application deployments.
- Ensure all packages are thoroughly tested in a controlled environment before deployment to production.
SCCM and Intune Administration:
- Manage and maintain the SCCM and Intune environments, ensuring they are up-to-date and running efficiently.
- Monitor and troubleshoot SCCM and Intune deployments and resolve any issues that arise.
- Perform regular health checks and maintenance tasks on SCCM and Intune infrastructure.
Patch Management:
- Plan, schedule, and deploy patches and updates to client systems using SCCM and Intune.
- Monitor compliance and ensure all systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches and software updates.
- Provide reports on patch compliance and address any gaps identified.
Imaging and OS Deployment:
Develop and manage OS images for deployment using SCCM and Intune.
Automate the imaging process to ensure efficient and consistent deployment of operating systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to imaging and OS deployment.
End-User Support and Training:
- Provide second and third-level support for issues related to application packaging and deployment.
- Work closely with helpdesk and support teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Conduct training sessions for IT staff and end-users on new applications and deployment processes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of all application packaging and deployment processes.
- Generate and analyze reports on deployment success rates, compliance, and system performance.
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles and technical documentation for internal use.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other IT teams and departments to ensure successful deployment of applications.
- Participate in IT projects, providing expertise on SCCM and Intune as required.
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively to meet deadlines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in SCCM and Intune administration and application packaging.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft SCCM and Intune.
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.).
- Experience with Windows operating systems and software deployment best practices.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server environments.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
