ROLE PROFILE: This role is critical for effective execution and delivery of data governance programme named Data Trust within LSEG. A Metadata Data Analyst's primary objective of the Metadata Analyst is to support the organisation in managing metadata and data models, ensuring that data change is strategic, efficient and maintains integrity.. They work closely with the Key internal stakeholders and with architects of DBORs and with tooling development teams to be able to successfully maintain Governance process and address changes for sustainability. ROLE SUMMARY: As a Metadata Data Analyst within the Data Governance Execution team, you will collaborate closely with the wider Data Trust team and key divisional stakeholders to develop the workflows requirement that will improve overall data governance process and deliver data trust objectives. You will be responsible for capturing requirements, delivering automation working with wider team and stakeholders to create a sustainable lineage model for D&A datasets. To be successful in the role you will require a strong background in building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Collaborate with business representatives to establish concise, understandable definitions that accurately reflect the business purpose and resonate with the various consumers.
- Establish and manage mechanisms to share the materials and publicise updates
- Work with business analysts and solution designers to identify critical data elements and capture the various metadata relating to them, ensuring that metadata becomes a regular deliverable of change initiatives.
- Oversee the maintenance of metadata artefacts, reporting and escalating where appropriate, resolving issues, gaps, and inconsistencies.
- Document the lineage of data from creation to output, ensuring that the information is useable and meets the business needs.
- Work with IT and Change to establish fit-for-purpose metadata tooling and support it through implementation and into production
- Establish a thorough understanding of the Solidatus data models
- Support the data architects in the development of data models.
- Help determine and manage data cleaning requirements
- Support the promotion of new modelled content to the enterprise models, ensuring that it is consistent with existing definitions.
- Determine the business needs for data reporting requirements WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Extensive practical experience of working with metadata tools (Collibra, Solidatus or any other).
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Logical thinker; able to articulate thoughts both verbally and diagrammatically.
- Prior experience of logical data modelling and data normalisation Highly Desirable
- Prior experience of working in a similar metadata role Education: - Bachelor's degree or a degree in related field Key competencies/behaviours
