Job Description

We are looking for Merchandiser for steel industry

As a Steel Industry Merchandiser, you will be responsible for managing the buying and selling process of steel products within the industry. Your primary goal will be to optimize the procurement and distribution of steel products, ensuring timely delivery and maximum profitability for the company. You will collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to maintain a seamless supply chain while staying updated on market trends and pricing fluctuations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Management:
  • Source steel products from suppliers, negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure competitive advantage and optimal inventory levels.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, quality, and reliability to maintain strong supplier relationships and secure the best deals for the company.
  • Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and regulatory changes to anticipate potential supply disruptions or opportunities for cost savings.
  1. Sales and Distribution:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, understanding their steel product requirements and providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of steel products to customers, optimizing transportation costs and efficiency.
  • Analyze sales data and market demand to forecast future sales trends and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
  1. Pricing Strategy:
  • Analyze pricing trends and competitive landscape to develop pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to implement pricing strategies and promotional campaigns to drive sales and achieve revenue targets.
  1. Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels and turnover rates to optimize stock levels and minimize holding costs.
  • Implement inventory management systems and procedures to track stock movement, identify slow-moving items, and reduce inventory obsolescence.
  1. Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, trade policies, and quality standards related to steel products.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions, currency fluctuations, and geopolitical factors that may impact procurement and sales activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in procurement, sales, or merchandising within the steel industry, with a strong understanding of steel products, market dynamics, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
