As a Merchandise Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and marketable products that align with our brand identity. You will work closely with the creative team, marketing, and product development teams to ensure our merchandise meets both aesthetic and commercial goals.
Conceptual Design: Develop innovative and trend-forward merchandise designs from concept through to production.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products to inform design decisions.
Product Development:
Collaborate with product development teams to create detailed design specifications, including materials, colors, and textures.Prototyping:
Create prototypes and samples, working closely with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure quality and feasibility.Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs align with the brand's visual identity and overall aesthetic.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and production, to ensure designs meet business goals and are viable for mass production.
Presentation:
Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine designs.Trend Analysis:
Monitor fashion and design trends, adapting them to fit the brand's style and market needs.Quality Control: Review and approve final products, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in merchandise, product, or fashion design.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), CAD, or similar.- Strong understanding of product development and manufacturing processes.
Excellent sketching, illustration, and visualization skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication and presentation skills.- Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in [specific industry, e.g., sportswear, lifestyle brands, etc.].
Knowledge of sustainable design practices.
- Experience working with international suppliers and manufacturers
