We are seeking a skilled and experienced MEP Engineer specializing in Electrical and Plumbing systems to join our team. The MEP Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, coordination, and implementation of electrical and plumbing systems for our construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Collaborate with project architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive MEP design solutions that meet project requirements and objectives.- Design and engineer electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Design and engineer plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems, ensuring efficient and sustainable solutions.
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documents for MEP systems, incorporating feedback from project teams and clients as necessary.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate existing conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities for improvement.- Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and vendors to procure materials and equipment for MEP systems, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project schedules.
Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during the installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems, resolving any issues or conflicts that arise.
- Perform quality assurance checks and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of MEP design changes, approvals, and as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle.- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in MEP engineering, and apply this knowledge to improve design processes and project outcomes.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Professional licensure or certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.- Proven experience in MEP design and engineering, with a focus on electrical and plumbing systems for construction projects. Experience in residential, commercial, and/or industrial projects is desirable.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD or Revit, as well as MEP design software and analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to electrical and plumbing systems, including NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, and ASPE.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical requirements and develop innovative solutions.- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality in design documentation and project deliverables.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and project milestones.
