Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coding professional to join our team. As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for assigning appropriate codes to medical procedures and diagnoses for accurate billing and reimbursement. This is a full-time position based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and requires a Junior level candidate with 1 to 3 years of experience.
Qualifications and Skills
- CCS certification
- CPC certification
- Solid understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong knowledge of Evaluation and Management (E&M) coding
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software
- Familiarity with AAPC coding guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Previous experience in medical coding is required
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to medical procedures and diagnoses
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Review and analyze medical records, patient charts, and billing documentation
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to resolve coding-related issues
- Follow up on coding discrepancies and denials to ensure proper reimbursement
- Stay updated on changes in coding rules and regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate claims submission
- Provide coding education and training to healthcare professionals as needed
